Message from the Athletic Director

John Fogarty's Bio
Over the last few decades Benedictine alumni have participated in the Super Bowl, the World Series, the NBA Finals and the NCAA Football and Basketball National Championships. They are men who have pushed themselves to the pinnacle of their sports. More importantly, while few of our student-athletes will ever play professional sports, all of them will learn the lesson that every successful person knows: you must be disciplined in order to achieve.

At Benedictine, the athletic program exists because it helps us form Cadets who will be Christian men of conscience, discipline and achievement. From our coaches, who are “Teachers of Virtue,” to the student-athletes, who are required to be “Cadets of Honor,” to the parents and alumni who provide constant support for our student-athletes and coaches, everyone plays a part in our success.

Combined with our Catholic tradition, military discipline and academic rigor, our athletic program is designed to help us form the Benedictine Man: a well-rounded individual who understands that achievement is a function of hard work and discipline; a man who not only knows what is right and what is wrong but chooses to do the right always; a man who is confident, but not cocky. The Benedictine man is a great son, brother, husband and father. Ultimately, he is a man who will serve God with all his talents.

We are proud of our athletic heritage and look to continue a tradition of excellence for the next 100 years.
