  • Register for the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) - current 8th/9th graders only. Registration/additional information at www.ssat.org. Testing fee is $155.00 paid online when you register with SSAT.

  • The standard paper-based SSAT which you need to register for at www.ssat.org will be given on the following dates at Benedictine College Preparatory: Saturday, October 16, 2021, Saturday, November 13, 2021, Saturday, December 11, 2021, Saturday, January 8, 2022 and Saturday, February 26, 2022. Testing time is 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. Seating is limited for each testing day.

  • Additionally, there is a paper-based "flex" test (the flexibility to test any time other than the standard Saturday testing) offered to students who take the test individually on a given day Monday-Friday at Benedictine College Prep from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. Contact Sandy Carli (scarli@benedictinecollegeprep.org) in the Admission Office to schedule a day for the flex test option.

  • Both the standard and flex SSAT are the exact same paper-based test and both must be registered for and paid for on the testing site at www.ssat.org. Flex testing day must be scheduled with the Admission Office at BCP before registration can occur.

  • Special accommodation testing (as a flex test) is available to take at BCP upon request with Sandy Carli in the Admission Office. Accommodations must be approved by SSAT. See their website to request approval.

  •  Also, please note that when you register for the SSAT, you will be asked to select a score recipient (where you want the test scores sent), please select Benedictine College Preparatory #1575 at this time so BCP will receive the scores in a timely manner. The parents will also be e-mailed a copy of the test scores.

Once we have a completed file, the Admission Office will schedule the applicant for a personal interview with the Director of Admission. During this visit, you will talk about classes, transitioning to high school and goals for college. Also, this is the perfect time for you to ask questions of us. The interview is informal and relaxed, so there is no reason to be nervous. We just want to get to know you !

For those students who have applied by Friday, January 28, 2022, notification letters are mailed Friday, March 4, 2022, in conjunction with the other independent high schools in the Greater Richmond area. BCP will continue to accept applications after January 28, 2022. We recommend that all admission requirements be completed by January 28, 2022 (except the interview) in order to be considered in the March 2022 admission decision. Decisions will continue throughout the school year/summer on a rolling basis as space permits.

Please visit our Admission Timeline for more information on the schedule of admission events.
