Greg Lilly

Greg Lilly has been the head coach at Benedictine for nine years. Prior to becoming the head coach, Coach Lilly served as an assistant coach at Benedictine for four years coaching quarterbacks, receivers, defensive backs, and linebackers.

Coach Lilly served as an infantry platoon commander in the United States Marine Corps from 1998 to 2005. His platoons conducted six overseas deployments including two combat tours in Baghdad, Iraq. Before becoming a Marine, Coach Lilly was an assistant coach at the University of Richmond from 1995 to 1997 where he had the opportunity to learn from top coaches including current University of Virginia coaches Mike London, Jim Reid, and Jeff Hanson and current NFL coaches Joe Cullen (Jacksonville Jaguars) and Frank Leonard (St. Louis Rams).

As a player, Greg Lilly walked on at the University of Richmond in 1989 and earned a scholarship after one year. Greg started at quarterback for the Spiders from 1990 to 1993 and was a team captain in 1993. He was named Yankee Conference (now known as the Colonial Athletic Association) Player of the Year, Division I-AA East Coast Player of the Year, and Honorable Mention All-American after the 1992 season.
