This Friday the Benedictine Cadets will face off against the Avalon Black Knights. The Cadets have two wins and zero losses in their 2019 campaign, and they are coming of a 48-26 win over Catholic High School (Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School).

The Cadets played the Black Knights last year, winning 34-27, as Jay Woolfolk threw for 170 against Catholic High School.

"We have to come out strong," said offensive coordinator Coach Padrone. "Last year we were behind and had to come, so to win we have to come out and score first."

The Cadets scored 41 points against Catholic High School. "The offense starts with the O-line," said Padrone. "Those guys set the pace of the game so that we can score points." The offensive line consists of Logan Chon, Malik James, Hunter Porterfield, Vincent Puccinelli and Joe Covington.

The game could be in jeopardy because of Hurricane Dorian is expected to hit Virginia on Thursday and Friday. "Last year we played Avalon during a torrential downpour," said Padrone. "The Hurricane won't stop us, so come out and support the team."

The football game is scheduled to take place at Bobby Ross Stadium at 4:00 p.m.
