Open House is coming soon, on October 16, to the Benedictine Abbey. This event invites middle school students, from multiple schools in the area, to take a tour of the school.
The tour guides (Benedictine Cadets) lead the visitors around and give them information about the school, its teachers and its activities. This event is orchestrated by Coach Lilly, Mrs. Carli and Mrs. Esparza.
Mr. Forster, a teacher at Benedictine and graduate of Cornell University, has assisted in many Benedictine open houses. Forster said, "The school benefits from Open House because it is giving us an opportunity to put our best foot forward."
The tour guides run the show for individual families. They show them around and encourage the students to attend Benedictine. Michael Morrissey, who is serving as a tour guide, said, "It was a good thing that the guys came out because they met some of the Cadets and get a feel for the school."
Tour guides and their visitors interact throughout the tour. The Cadet can leave an positive impact on the visitor and show the school positively. Forster said, "A good number of Open House visitors become Cadets."
The event will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and will also include displays in the cafeteria that will showcase Benedictine extracurricular activities, such as sports, Key Club and choir.
