Nick Turner, on the first offensive play for the Cadets, threw a touchdown pass to Leon Haughton that went for 64 yards. When asked if he expected a touchdown Coach Lilly said "No, we called that (play) earlier in the season, but thought it could be a big play."
This play was called because "First play (for Cadets offense), and we thought we could surprise them (Trinity)." Stated Coach Lilly. "The play felt right."
Coach Lilly credits the thoughtful and well-called plays to Coach Padrone.
Turner played a key role in the game. "Good offensively and defensively," stated Coach Lily when talking about how well Turner played. "Made a big play (defensive) on fourth down in the third quarter."
Cadet Turner has received interest from FCS football programs and has offers from a few D-2 teams. "When his highlights are released," stated Coach Lily "he will probably receive some more interest from more schools."
