After standout performances in the state championship win over against St. Chris, Cadets Stevie Walden and Christian Dunn are named Athletes of the Week.
After being out for eight weeks, with both having broken collar bones, they returned and played key roles in the win. Many people, including Walden and Dunn, were unsure if they would return this season.
Coach Forgarty was among these people. He said when asked if he thought they'd return, "No, I was unsure and it was very close, but they did good hard work to return."
Both Cadets are said to be fun and laid-back people outside of school. Cadet Walden said, "I like to chill, workout and hanging out with my friends. And as you know, I love playing football."
Dunn is said to be a "great asset defensively," by Cadet Whit Williams. He additionally said, "Dunn is fun to be around, and also finds a way to make me laugh."
Cadet Dunn currently holds a scholarship offer from University of Virginia at Wise and is optimistic about his future. Cadet Walden doesn't have any scholarship offers yet, but plans on continuing in college. He is unsure about where he will attend but he said, "I just want to be successful and help others in the future."
