Brandon Jenkins, a transfer from James River, stole the show vs SJPTG on Friday January 10, 2020 with his 29-point performance. Jenkins led the Cadets to an overtime thriller winning 78-74 in a much needed win.
“Friday really showed how Brandon can take over a game when he’s focused,” said Whit Williams, a starter on the team. “This was a really big win for us and it will spark a fire for our games going forward.”
"He gives good leadership at the point guard spot and is a force to be reckoned with," said Lorenz Boykin. "He's a lot better than most point guards in Richmond, and he doesn't get enough credit where credit is due."
Jenkins has played for Richmond Squires and River City Reign, who are elite AAU teams in the Richmond area. Although Jenkins has the option to play for both clubs, he is looking to play for Boo Williams Elite this upcoming AAU season. Brandon is a big part of the team this season and will help the Cadets reach their goal of a state championship this season. He is a very good student as well and takes both basketball and academics seriously at Benedictine.
Jenkins followed up the superb performance against John Paul the Great by putting up 25 points in a big win over Collegiate. His efforts have helped greatly in the Cadets' quest to return to the state playoffs.
