The second quarter is coming to an end this Friday at Benedictine. The Cadets have one week to see their teachers and make up on any missed assignments they might be missing.
The end of the second quarter is also the beginning of the second semester. “I feel confident going into this second semester,” said Jagan Ratlief ‘23. “I was nervous coming in, but now that orientation has concluded I have realized that Benedictine is my home.”
The first semester ending means if a Cadet had Mr. Fogarty for Bioethics, now he has either Sergeant Major Stockhausen or Master Chief Tobias for military, and vice versa.
Most seniors have submitted all of their college applications. "Senioritis is going to be hitting this second semester," said Henry Hunt '20. "I have one college application left, and then it is smooth sailing from there."
Most of the seniors have a good idea of where they are going next year. If a student applied early-action he will have heard back in December. If a student applies regular decision usually they hear back in March.
The second semester will hold many big events including prom, the figure and graduation. "I am very excited about what is yet to come this second semester," said Charlie Williamson '21. "Junior year is the most important, but it is also the most fun."
The second semester starting motivates many Cadets to better themselves from the previous semester. It is an opportunity for the Cadets to finish strong, and reach their max potential in the classroom, and on the field. "I am determinedly motivated to do better this semester," said Michael Hiller '22. "I did my first semester, but I can always do better."
