Due to these unprecedented times of social distancing, Benedictine College Preparatory has been forced to think of ways to continue long-standing traditions within the school. The latest example of Benedictine continuing tradition during the Corona Virus era is the Academic Awards Day. Usually, awards are presented to worthy Cadets in the school auditorium during a school-wide assembly. This year, awards were presented via the Academic Awards page, found online.
When accessing the page, you will find eight of our magnificent teachers announcing the winners for each class on video. These wonderful teachers are Miss Lowry, Mrs. Esparza, Mrs. Reisenweaver, Mr. Walker, Mr. Doran, Mr. McLeod, Miss Lonergan and Mrs. Holland.
Per usual, teachers will announce each subject, then the class awards pertaining to each subject. Each specific English class, for example, from each grade, will have a reward for the best performing student in that class. Basically, each individual class from each subject will have a Cadet who performed the best, and that Cadet will be recognized for his extreme due-diligence and hard work over the course of the entire academic school year.
"Although I am a senior this year and basically done with school, I am glad to see my school trying to continue the traditions that made me love the place over my four years here, even during the terrible times of the Corona Virus," said Will Garbett.
"I am excited to see if I won an award," said rising senior Jackson Cray. "I am glad to see that the school is doing its best to do normal things during these terrible times."
