Grandparent's Day will be on Friday, December 7 from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Benedictine will be hosting the grandparents of Cadets, who will eat lunch and attend Mass with their grandsons.
Grandparent's Day is a tradition at Benedictine. Every year, grandparents of Cadets come to visit and spend part of the school day at Benedictine. This event is a great way of uniting the Benedictine family, and it allows grandparents to spend quality time with their grandchildren along with fellow Cadets. There will be certain awards for Grandparents, such as an award for those who drove the farthest to come to Benedictine and an award for who served in the military for the longest time.
"Grandparent's Day is a great time for everybody," said sophomore Jackson Cray. "My Grandparents love it and look forward to it every year."
Last year was the first year that Grandparent's Day was held at the current Benedictine campus. Up until then, it was held at the old gym in downtown Richmond.
There was a sign-up form on Benedictine's website. Cadets were fill out the form in order to participate in Grandparent's Day. There were a limited number of spots and, in fact, the event was "sold out" by Tuesday morning, although there is a waiting list.
