Last Monday, October 1, the Benedictine Cadets Battle of the Brains team made its first appearance since 2016. On that day, the Benedictine Battle of the Brains team took on Midlothian High School. Midlothian High School edged Benedictine, 250-225. Since the Battle of the Brains is a single elimination competition, the Cadets had both their first and last Battle of the Brains game of their season. The competition took place and was filmed at the CBS 6 Studio near Scotts Addition.
The Benedictine Battle of the Brains Coach, Mr. Forster said, “Well, the season was shorter than we hoped but, this one match showed we have some really smart guys at this school who carried themselves really well and who set the stage for future success.”
This Saturday October, 13, the Cadet's game will be aired on Channel Six. It will be shown at 10 a.m.
The Cadets' Battle of the Brains team's starters were seniors D'Andre Tobias, Bradford Dudley, Oliver Sibal and Savion Washington. The backups on the team were juniors Patrick White and Nathan Gleberman. The Cadets were led this year by Coach Forster and Coach Verlander.
Battle of the Brains is a tournament where Richmond area schools compete using only the power of their minds. In Battle of the Brains, the two teams get points by answering questions from several different categories. The bracket for the Battle of the brains is single elimination.
