The Cadets take on Collegiate with their playoff invitation on the line. This away game is scheduled for Friday, October 12 at 4 p.m.
Both teams have won two games so far this school year. The Cougars have three losses, but the Cadets only have two going into this game. The Cougars are coming off a big loss against Woodberry Forest, with a score of 48-13. The Cadets, on the other hand, are coming off of a hard-fought battle, losing 24-14 to Georgetown Preparatory. Starting quarterback Andrew Puccinelli said, “This is one of the biggest games I will ever play in, and I believe that we will be coming off the field with a huge win.”
Benedictine only had nine games on its schedule, and one of those games, versus Arch-Bishop Spalding, was cancelled. So, to make the playoffs, it's safe to assume that the Cadets cannot spare another loss, especially to Collegiate. There are only four playoff spots, and it seems that last year's state champions, Flint Hill, seem sure of a bid with their unbeaten record.
The Cougars scheduled the Cadets as their homecoming game, so it will surely draw large crowds. This game is a mandatory game for all Cadets! There is a distinct possibility that some notable alumni will show up to support the Cadets. At last week's game, against Georgetown Preparatory, Ellis Brooks, Tyren Cloyd and Jace Mallory made appearances.
Come support the Cadets as they plan to leave with a victory and ruin the Cougars' homecoming.
