He ran into a buzz saw. On Tuesday November, 19, after the Individual Drill Competition, Mac Foley had his head shaved. The clippers were happily hacked by Headmaster Mr. Jesse Grapes and the Commandant Colonel York. The trimming took place in response to some serious fund-raising for a good cause.

Mac Foley, who was a member of the RAMPS club built six ramps during his days at Collegiate. Foley understands how impactful ramp builds are for people in the Richmond community. Susan Revere, the chairman of RAMPS, said, “We all thank Coach for his involvement and dedication to RAMPS.”

The treasurer of the club Will Garbett came up with the idea. Garbett challenged the Benedictine family to raise $500 in two weeks and it did. The deal was not one-sided as the other part of the deal included a shaved head. Benedictine's RAMPS club crushed its goal by more than $500, raising close to $1200.

Coach Foley's players hope to see his locks back by the start of season. "I hope Coach Foley's hair grows back," said sophomore goalie Kyle Joyce. "Because if I wanted a bald coach I'd play rugby."

Although Mr. Foley is currently a member of the "Hairless Club for Men" (with Mr. Gaffney, Mr. Hamilton, Mr. Forster and Mr. McKenna), his membership is only temporary.
