Oliver Viniegra Sibal was named Benedictine's salutatorian for the Class of '19 due to his GPA of 4.50.
Oliver excelled in eight AP courses over his time at BCP. During his senior year, Oliver was selected to lead the school’s Honor Platoon, with a rank of captain.
During his address at this year's commencement exercise, Oliver stated, "Benedictine has really offered me the chance to become someone better, as it had for every single one of us."
He has been a four-year member of the Benedictine tennis team and has been an altar server throughout his time at the school. A member of the Model General Assembly and Model Judiciary teams, Oliver was also on the Benedictine Battle of the Brains team. A regular communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Oliver is also a renowned harpist: a member of the American Youth Harp Ensemble Touring Group and the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra. He shall attend Stanford University in the fall.
"But the greatest thing that Benedictine has offered all of us over these past four years is the chance to part of a brotherhood," noted Oliver. "A tight-knit community that has shared experiences in a special way that you're not going to find anywhere else."
