Last Saturday, January 5, the Benedictine Wrestling team competed at Colonial Forge High School. At Colonial Forge High School, the wrestlers played five other teams and won against four of those squads.

At this meet the Cadets went after Battlefield High School, Lloyd C. Bird High School, Potomac Senior High School, Lee Davis High School and Archbishop Spalding High School (which is located in Maryland).

The Cadets beat Battlefield High School, Lloyd C. Bird High School, Potomac Senior High School and Lee Davis High School. The Cadets, however, lost to Bishop Spalding because of tie-breaker criteria.

"We did [well]," said sophomore wrestler Brenden Barnes. "Because we tied (in points) Archbishop Spalding, and they were top ten at preps."

Barnes went undefeated at the meet. Sophomore Ryan Tremain also went undefeated at the meet. Senior Josh Yost also had a good performance at the meet.

This meet was a dual meet, where the schools competed head to head and in round-robin fashion.

Colonial Forge High School is in Stafford, Virginia and Potomac is located in the greater DC area. The other schools are found in RVA.
