Sports Medicine Needs Prevention. Evaluation. Rehabilitation.

OrthoVirginia is proudly partnered with Benedictine College Preparatory to provide top-quality health care to all student-athletes. Athletic trainer Brandi Beatty, ATC, is on site every day for the sports medicine needs for all our Cadets and provides support at all games and practices. The athletic trainer’s responsibilities include emergency medical care for athletes injured during play; evaluation and rehabilitation of athletic injuries; prevention of athletic injuries through intervention and education; assistance with insurance claim filing; and providing direct communication with our team physician and student-athlete families. Brandi has been caring for the student-athletes at Benedictine for almost 20 years.

Dr. Steven Reece has been proudly serving as our Cadets’ team physician for the past 18 years. He covers all our home football games, provides pre-participation physicals for our students, and sees all of our student-athletes in the clinic within 24 hours of injury. With a range of sports medicine experience at the Olympic, professional, collegiate, and high school levels, Dr. Reece specializes in the treatment of both overuse and traumatic orthopedic injuries in people of all ages. Dr. Reece's appointments include medical director of the Sports Medicine Committee for the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association, as well as an assistant clinical professor at VCU School of Medicine where he assists in the training of medical students and resident physicians.
