The swimming team at Benedictine competes in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Championships at the end of the season. During the regular season they participate in swim meets throughout the Richmond Metro area.
Unlike the other sports at Benedictine, the swim team practices before school. Swimming is an excellent activity for developing self-discipline, self-awareness and improvement.
Last season, the team saw significant improvement, with several swimmers qualifying for States:
State qualifiers: Ty Owens 100 free, 200 free; Henry Dwyer 100 free, 200 free; Ben Walls, Henry Dwyer, Ty Owens, Joseph Clark: 200 medley relay and 4 X 100 free relay
Through participation in swimming the Cadets will mature not just physically but mentally and socially as well. Like tennis and golf, swimming is an activity that can last a lifetime.
