From the middle of August to just before Thanksgiving you can go out to the Abbey almost every day and find close to 100 student-athletes honing their skills on the football field. All of this effort is for the opportunity to play one game a week…and the privilege of wearing a Benedictine uniform. Our players do not take that privilege lightly. The Cadets are young men of honor both on and off the football field.
Our home games are played at Bobby Ross Stadium, named for Coach Ross ('55), NCAA Champion and Super Bowl coach. The team competes in Division 1 of the VISAA and plays a combination of public and private school in the Richmond metro area.
While we do all the preparation so that the Cadets will be bigger, faster and stronger, we know that the real success is what type of men the student-athletes become. The Cadets come in as freshmen and leave as young men of conscience, discipline and achievement. They will have the tools and skills necessary to live life as Christian men. They will learn how to give of themselves for the betterment of the team. Please note: there is a $7.00 admission fee for all home football games. Coaches club passes are accepted.
